It’s a hive of activity at Bloomfield, with civil construction well underway. Works are moving along at a pleasing pace and the estate is beginning to reveal its form.
Here’s What’s Been Happening Onsite
- Early groundwork is well advanced
- Topsoil has been fully stripped, and bulk earthworks are nearly finished (95%)
- Sediment basins are almost done (90%)
- Underground sewer is mostly in (85%)
- Crews are currently forming up the road areas (boxing, 70%) and have just started on the nature strips
- Surveying and marking out for the drainage teams has been completed
- Deep sewer works continue, along with backfilling, and the stormwater crew (Reid Civil) is due to start on site
What’s Coming Up Next
- Phase 2 works will follow the completion of groundworks, including:
- Road base and asphalt, kerbing and drainage pits
- Pipes, water, power, gas, NBN and footpaths
The team will also soon secure final approvals from the Department of Transport for the main intersection and kick off the traffic management plan for that work.
Looking Further Ahead
A revised design for the estate’s wetland has gone to Council for approval.
The wetland and related drainage features will begin once the environmental works, including replanting native vegetation and relocating protected plants and wildlife, are completed by our ecologist.
